The actress opened up about her decision during the latest episode of “KC After Hours” on Saturday, August 15, where she discussed her priorities, family life, and the personal dream that eventually led her away from the entertainment industry.

According to Kaye, her desire to become a homemaker was something she had already imagined for herself when she was only 18 years old.

“Sabi ko, parang nakikita ko na hindi na siguro ako mag-aartista. ‘Yon ‘yong lagi kong sinasabi. [...] I really wanted to be a housewife,” Kaye said.

Her desire became even stronger after she married “Pinoy Big Brother: Double Up” runner-up winner and businessman Paul Jake Castillo and eventually moved to Cebu with him.

Kaye said she immediately appreciated the lifestyle she found there, particularly the balance between urban living and a more relaxed environment.

“I like it [Cebu] because if you want a city life, there’s a city life. If you want beach and relaxing life, malapit lang din.”

The actress also traced her preference for family life to her own mother, whom she saw growing up as someone who devoted herself to taking care of their family through cooking and other household responsibilities.

Her decision, however, came at a significant point in her career. Karmina Constantino asked Kaye whether she ever felt that she had sacrificed something by leaving the industry after investing so much energy into her craft.

“In terms of personal, alam mo kasi 'yon na talaga 'yong pinagarap mo dati, but the career, and the energy you put into the craft, hindi ka ba nanghinayang?"

Kaye gave a straightforward answer.

“Hindi ako nanghinayang,” she answered.
“Katulad ng sinabi ko kanina, nasa peak ako ng career ko when I left. I did ‘Two Wives’ na nag-hit. That’s why they said balik lang. They even offered me another show.”

Kaye also recalled that “Two Wives” marked an important milestone because it was her first time leading a teleserye. Despite being encouraged to continue while her career was gaining momentum, she remained firm about her decision.

“First time kong nag-lead that time for teleserye. Sabi nga kinausap nila ako na, ‘Huwag. Sayang, Kaye. Ito na ‘yon. Nandito ka na. Ikaw na ‘to. Bida ka na.’ Sabi ko, hindi talaga.”

For Kaye, the opportunity to continue building her career could not outweigh her personal desire to create a family.

After spending years in showbiz, she ultimately chose the life she had long envisioned for herself, showing that her decision to leave was not driven by a lack of opportunities but by a change in what she valued most.
