He continued, “I think the issue has something to do with a better education system, tighter security sa mga schools, responsible gun ownership, and better parenting also.”

To further illustrate his point, Teddy drew a comparison to physical sports, noting that conflict can arise in any competitive environment when participants lose control of their emotions.

He added, “Doon nga sa basketball court, may nagba-barilan at saksakan din because of pikunan sa game, so pa-ban na rin natin basketball sa bansa?”

In the final portion of his statement, Teddy questioned the effectiveness of outright prohibitions, challenging the idea that removing video games would automatically resolve crimes committed by minors. He urged authorities and the public to consider more comprehensive societal reforms rather than reactive measures.

He concluded, “Pag ban yung mga ganitong klaseng games mawawala na ba ang ganitong types of crimes committed by minors? Ang daming factors na kailangang i-consider, pag-aralan at baguhin, pero kabobohan yung shortcut route.”

Teddy's remarks came after a recent statement from Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla, who proposed a permanent ban on violent online games in the Philippines. According to the DILG chief, graphic digital platforms desensitize young people to elements of death and murder, prompting him to urge Congress to investigate and implement restrictive regulatory measures against such content.
