Julian began his message published on Monday, August 31, by explaining why he wanted to go beyond the usual birthday greeting, emphasizing the significance of the decade they had shared.

“And now, for this, we have to go off-script—

because this marks a decade of indescribable reasons

and scattered meanings.

Seasons of emotional peaks through valleys of doubt;

undeserved wins and monumental defeats

that only you and I could celebrate together…

or cry about.

But we are here, still.

We’ve explored corners of the world,

defied so many odds,

and somehow, it still felt like home

because we were holding hands.”

Julian then reflected on the challenges they had faced throughout the years, saying that their silent battles brought them from fear and uncertainty toward peace and clarity. He described staying together as a victory that required conscious and persistent choices.

“Through endless battles we’ve fought silently,

fear and uncertainty became peace and clarity—

learning that staying was its own kind of victory.

Consciously choosing, actually.

Constantly.

Persistently.

Now you ask:

are we here?

I say, be still.”

Continuing his reflection, Julian compared their relationship to a seed that eventually grew into a garden. He acknowledged that their love was never without difficulties, but said it developed strong roots and continued to flourish through different seasons, which he attributed to their faith in God.
