Pokwang went on to point out that artists also have the right to express their opinions, just like everyone else, despite being criticized whenever they speak up about issues.
She also emphasized that artists contribute to literature, music, and storytelling that touch people’s lives and emotions. According to her, creative works that inspire happiness, tears, and entertainment are all products of artists whom some people unfairly call “bobo.”
The television personality likewise mentioned how artists are often tapped by politicians during election season because of their influence and ability to draw crowds and entertain supporters.
Pokwang further highlighted that artists also pay taxes that contribute to public services and infrastructure, including schools and roads.
Toward the end of her statement, Pokwang contrasted herself with people who may have finished formal education but, according to her, fail to use what they learned in a meaningful way.
Nagmamahal,
Artistang bobo!”
Pokwang’s post quickly drew attention online as it resonated with discussions surrounding respect for artists, freedom of expression, and the role of entertainers in society beyond television and film.
