What was supposed to be a peaceful physical exercise turned into an absolute nightmare for a family in Caloocan City, after an elderly relative who failed to return home from an early morning jog was discovered lifeless in a local waterway.

According to a report by GMA Network, the tragic discovery concluded a tense search operation launched by worried relatives.

The 73-anyos individual was last spotted by locals around 5:00 a.m. on a Tuesday, dressed in a black sando while jogging across the Bagong Silang neighborhood.

When hours passed and he failed to show up at his doorstep, his panicked family immediately sought assistance from local authorities to track his whereabouts.

The search ultimately led responders deep into a residential interior of Barangay 175 by Wednesday, where community members pointed search teams toward the water's edge.

Describing the grim location, Dionesio Sevilla, team leader of Barangay 175, shared, “Medyo looban ang pinasok namin. Mayroong mga bystander doon na nagtuturo na sa amin kung nasaan banda 'yung bangkay. Nandoon siya sa may gilid ng creek sa tubig.”

Following the recovery, local police immediately secured the area and processed the remains. Although grieving family members quickly stepped forward to positively identify their loved one, they respectfully declined to issue public statements while official investigations and medical examinations take place.

Authorities are currently coordinating further actions, including the formal results of an autopsy, to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
