Nikki Valdez shares heartbreaking story about contracting COVID-19

Nikki Valdez took to social media to share her painful experience with COVID-19. According to the actress, she and her husband have been infected with the virus a few weeks back and she voiced out how worried she was for her senior mother and her daughter who were both with them.

The actress also shared the signs and symptoms she and her husband exhibited during the course of the illness. She explained that there were days when she was feeling alright and days that she felt terrible.

"The first few days were the hardest. There were days that were okay and days that I felt just blah. Body aches, flu-like feeling [but] 1000x worst (but temp[erature] was normal— weird!), mild dry cough and 10-12 hours of sleep was not enough."

Nikki also revealed that COVID-19 did not simply affect the body but also caused mental and emotional exhaustion.

She then expressed her utmost gratitude to the medical team in charge of their treatment and recovery and called them unsung heroes.

Together with her message, Nikki also posted a photo of their family celebrating their recovery. The actress ended her post by saying, "COVID is real but so is our God who is our Divine healer. It is only by Your grace that we are alive and well."
