Health Secretary Francisco Duque III has expressed being against self-swabbing done by Robin Padilla.
According to CNN Philippines, Duque said in a media briefing on Thursday, May 27, that self-collected swab samples might lead to inaccurate test results.
"Hindi pwedeng sariling gawin ‘yan dahil ang resulta ay magiging kwestyonable dahil kung hindi ito naaayon sa tamang pamantayan ay kaduda-duda ang magiging resulta."

In a report by Inquirer.net, the secretary also said there are protocols and standards that are being followed in conducting swab tests.
“Hindi dapat ginagawa 'yan," Duque said in his remark on Padilla’s viral video.

Robin Padilla is a Filipino actor, director, producer, and screenwriter. He already has children with his former wife Liezl Sicangco — Ali, Queenie, Kylie, and Zhen-Zhen. He has also another daughter, Camille, with Lea Orosa. The actor's current wife is actress Mariel Padilla whom he has two children.

In a previous report by KAMI, Robin made rounds on social media because of his latest video. The video shows the actor collecting his own nasal swab sample. His colleagues can likewise be seen doing self-swab collection in the viral video.
Critics then claimed that it is not safe and recommended for non-health professionals to perform self-swabbing due to the chance of making a mistake and getting an inaccurate test result. However, Robin defended himself, saying that he knows how to perform the swab test on himself because he gets tested three times a week.
