As of Monday, March 22, there were 20 patients who were waiting in the emergency room.

Accordingly, the hospital has 120 beds allocated for COVID-19 patients. This number makes up for 26% of the total capacity of the hospital.

Due to the overwhelming number, the doctor appeals to the public to understand since they could no longer afford to have patients wait in the emergency area.

Along with the appeal, he also requested for the public to make use of other hospitals under the One Hospital Command.

Medical City president and CEO Eugenio Jose Ramos said that the hospital is in a state of "overcapacity." Its 137 staff are already in quarantine, Rappler reported.
