Enchong, like several other artists like Agot Isidro, Angel Locsin, Alessandra de Rossi, Ethel Booba, Gretchen Ho, and Janine Gutierrez, are known to criticize the current administration.

Recently, Angel Locsin also took to social media to slam what she claims is an attempt by President Rodrigo Duterte to belittle the current health crisis.

Several government officials have also crossed swords with the said artists, though in some instances, their statements were allegedly already considered veiled threats.

It is not clear if the data Enchong posted along with his tweet is recent. It appears to be a screenshot from the IBON Foundation and contains a compilation of the economic performance summary of countries in South, East, and Southeast Asia.

The IBON Foundation data also mentioned it sourced its data from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), though the screengrab shows the Philippines’ economic performance at -9.5%, the current IMF data shows the country at -8.5%.

About a month ago, the actor also reacted to the statement of President Rodrigo Duterte about the ABS-CBN franchise. In a tweet, the actor said that the government should prioritize the poverty problem of Filipinos. Enchong posted the tweet after President Duterte, in a speech, said he will not allow the network to operate until it pays its tax deficiencies. The giant network previously stated, which was also concurred by the Bureau of Internal Revenue, that they do not have any tax deficiencies.
