Korean actress Park So-dam, who rose to fame internationally due to her Oscar-winning movie “Parasite,” has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer.

According to her agency, Artist Company, the actress will not participate in promoting her upcoming movie “Special Delivery” because of her illness.
So-dam had to undergo surgery as a part of her treatment for thyroid cancer. Artist Company added that the actress is disappointed that she will not be able to interact with her fans ahead of the movie premiere. However, So-dam is still cheering for her new movie to succeed and resonate with the audience.
Her legion of fans and many people are expressing their hope for her full recovery. The “Parasite” star will be focusing on the treatment of her illness, the agency shared.

“Actress Park So Dam was diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer from her regular health examination, and she completed surgery following the doctor’s recommendation,” Artist Company stated, as translated by the Korean news site Soompi.
Park So-dam is a South Korean actress who rose to fame due to her movie “Parasite,” which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. Her other projects include “The Priests”, “Cinderella with Four Knights” and “Record of Youth”.
In the Philippines, there are a couple of stars who also faced cancer. Wil Dasovich, a popular YouTube vlogger, was diagnosed with colon cancer years ago. Fortunately, he was able to beat the illness.
Filipina actress Jaymee Joaquin is also currently dealing with cancer. She went into remission a couple of times but the cancer has come back in full force.
