Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke has died at the age of 29, the NBA team confirmed in a statement released on Wednesday, May 13 (Philippine time).

In its official statement, the Memphis Grizzlies expressed grief over Clarke’s passing and remembered him as a valued member of the organization and the Memphis community.
“We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of Brandon Clarke,” the team said.
The organization also highlighted the impact Clarke made during his time with the franchise, both as a teammate and as a person admired by those around him.

“Brandon was an outstanding teammate and an even better person whose impact on the organization and the greater Memphis community will not be forgotten,” the statement continued.
The Grizzlies ended the message by extending condolences to Clarke’s loved ones during what they described as a difficult time.
“We express our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
Clarke’s management company, Priority Sports, also released an emotional statement mourning his death and reflecting on the relationships he built throughout his basketball journey.
“We are all beyond devastated by the passing of Brandon Clarke,” the agency said.
The company described Clarke as someone deeply loved by the people around him and remembered him for his kindness and unwavering support for family and friends.
