In her lengthy social media post, Wendy described the experience as both “grateful and heavy,” reflecting on the difficult hours she spent watching over her son after surgery.

She first expressed gratitude to everyone who prayed for Seth and their family during the difficult procedure.

“Thank you so much to everyone who prayed for Seth and our family today. We truly felt covered in prayer through one of the hardest days of our lives,” she shared.
According to Wendy, Seth remained brave throughout the surgery, with doctors informing her that his vital signs stayed stable during the entire operation.
She also proudly shared how the medical team praised Seth for being cooperative and calm despite the painful procedures he had to endure while awake.
“The doctors told us his vitals stayed good throughout the entire surgery, and that he was such a brave and cooperative boy whenever they needed to do things for him while he was awake,” Wendy wrote.
The actress added that Seth never fought the nurses and doctors whenever they inserted needles or conducted medical procedures, which deeply moved her as a mother.
However, Wendy admitted that seeing her son struggle after surgery became emotionally overwhelming for her.
She revealed that Seth experienced dizziness and vomiting during recovery due to one of the pain medications initially given to him.
“He started shaking a bit and repeatedly told me he felt dizzy,” Wendy recalled.
The former actress said she initially thought the dizziness was simply caused by the anesthesia wearing off. However, after Seth vomited twice, doctors later discovered that one of the pain relievers was triggering the reaction.
The medication was eventually changed, but Wendy shared that Seth still experienced discomfort and pain from the surgical incision.
“He kept asking for mommy hugs,” Wendy wrote emotionally, adding that Seth told her around 4 a.m. that he still could not sleep because of the pain.
The actress said doctors planned to increase his pain medication to help ease his suffering as the recovery process continued.
Wendy reflected on the emotional weight parents carry while watching their child endure pain after surviving a major medical procedure.
“Seeing your child survive something so major fills your heart with gratitude, but seeing them in pain afterward is a different kind of heaviness only a parent can understand,” she wrote.

Despite the challenges, Wendy emphasized that she remains thankful to God for guiding Seth safely through the operation.
“Still, God carried Seth through the surgery, and I am so thankful. Operation was a victory, but I know the healing journey continues. God is with us,” she concluded.
The actress’ post quickly gained attention online, with many netizens and supporters offering prayers and words of encouragement for Seth’s continued recovery.
Wendy Valdez, whose full name is Wendy Valdez-Garcia, was born on June 2, 1982. She is a Filipina beauty queen, actress, and former contestant of Pinoy Big Brother: Season 2. Although she finished as the third placer in the competition, Wendy immediately received numerous opportunities and projects, especially under ABS-CBN. She eventually starred in the teleserye Margarita and was also previously linked romantically to Bruce Quebral.
Yesterday, Wendy Valdez became emotional on social media after opening up about the continuing health struggles of her son Seth, who was born with Spina bifida. The former reality show housemate shared photos of herself staying by Seth’s side in the hospital while he underwent another major surgery at eight years old.
In an earlier report years ago, Wendy spoke candidly about the challenges she faced as a first-time mother during a guest appearance on Magandang Buhay. She revealed that she experienced a miscarriage during her first pregnancy with husband Norman Garcia. When she later became pregnant again, doctors informed her that baby Seth had spina bifida. Wendy eventually delivered Seth through cesarean section because doctors warned that the swelling on his back could rupture during normal delivery, potentially leading to cerebral palsy, autism, or brain damage.
