A woman was killed in a shooting incident in Barangay 188, Tala, Caloocan City on the evening of June 17, according to a report by Gabriel Gonzalez on GMA News' "Unang Balita."

Authorities found the victim lying lifeless on the road shortly after 6 p.m. Police have yet to release her identity as the investigation remains ongoing.
According to witnesses, the sound of gunfire startled residents in the area. Some said they heard at least two shots before noticing the victim on the ground.
One resident recalled seeing the suspect moments after the shooting.

"Pinapalingon ako sa huling putok. Doon ko na lang po nakita yung gunman na lumapit doon sa babae," the witness said.
Another witness claimed the victim was already on the road when the suspect approached her.
"Nakailata na po yung babae sa gitna ng kalsada. Tinutukan po ng baril, talagang tinuluyan po," the witness stated.
The same resident described the suspect as a lone man wearing a black jacket and a black hat.
Based on the report, the area was still busy at the time of the incident, with motorists and pedestrians present. Despite this, the suspect managed to escape immediately after the shooting.
Police declined to provide further details while the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are still working to determine the victim's identity and the motive behind the attack.
Investigators have started conducting CCTV backtracking operations to trace the movements of the suspect, who reportedly fled the scene on a motorcycle.
Police are also encouraging anyone with information related to the case to coordinate with authorities as efforts continue to identify and locate the gunman.
