The footage, recorded in the early hours of Friday, showed two men on a motorcycle roaming around the area before stopping near a residential gate. They appeared to be observing their surroundings before making a U-turn and parking along the roadside.

Moments later, the back rider got off and walked into an alley where the victim's motorcycle was parked. He waited for another rider in the area to leave before making his move.

According to the victim's mother, the stolen motorcycle is valued at more than P100,000 and had been financed for more than a year.

"Kinabukasan 7 aalis na yung anak ko. Paglabas niya, bumalik siya. Sabi niya, 'Ma, napansin mo yung motor ko?' Sabi ko, 'Hindi.' Tapos naghanap na kami," she recalled.

The family later learned that the motorcycle may not have been locked at the time of the incident. CCTV footage also appeared to show the suspect tampering with a part of the vehicle before it started moving.

After discovering the motorcycle was missing, the owner immediately went to the barangay office to request a review of the CCTV footage. A police blotter was also filed, and authorities were informed of the incident.

The San Mateo Police are now conducting a backtracking operation and working to identify the suspects involved.

Barangay officials also noted similarities between this case and another motorcycle theft reported in the same area last month. According to them, the suspects appeared to use the same method by first observing the area before returning to take the vehicle.
