The motorcycle rider suffered serious injuries after being struck by an SUV in Marikina City, according to a report aired on GMA's Unang Balita.

The incident happened in Barangay Concepcion Dos, Marikina City on Saturday. Based on footage shown in the report, the rider was making a turn when a speeding SUV suddenly hit him.
Due to the impact of the collision, the victim was thrown from his motorcycle and crashed into a nearby post. Witnesses immediately rushed to the scene following the accident.

The driver of the SUV reportedly got out of the vehicle and approached the victim after the crash. Barangay officials also responded and immediately sought medical assistance for the injured rider.

A barangay representative explained why they prioritized getting help for the victim.
"Kailangan yung victim muna maitakbo, maisalba," the official said.
The barangay also secured the driver's license of the SUV driver while responders attended to the injured motorcyclist.
The victim's relatives declined to give an interview. However, his sibling confirmed that the rider remains in the intensive care unit due to the injuries he sustained.
According to the family, the victim suffered fractures in different parts of his body along with wounds to his head. They also expressed concern over information circulating online regarding the incident.
The rider's relatives urged the public not to spread false claims or make negative remarks about the victim while he continues to recover.
The suspect is currently under the custody of the Marikina City Police. He is facing a complaint for reckless imprudence resulting in physical injury and damage to property.
Authorities are still trying to obtain the side of the SUV driver as part of the investigation.
