A teacher was killed after she was allegedly dragged and shot by her boyfriend, a soldier, in Del Gallego, Camarines Sur, according to a report aired on GMA News' “Saksi” on Thursday.

Witnesses told authorities that the victim was having a meal with several friends at a plaza when the suspect suddenly approached and forcibly dragged her away.

A barangay watchman attempted to intervene and stop the suspect, but he was also shot during the confrontation. Despite being wounded, the village official survived the incident.

Moments later, several gunshots were heard in the area. Residents then discovered the victim lying on the ground. She was declared dead following the attack.

The suspect later turned the gun on himself in an apparent suic*de attempt. However, he survived and is currently confined in a hospital, where he is being guarded by police officers.

The surviving barangay watchman is also recovering from his injuries, according to the report.

Authorities have yet to release additional details regarding the motive behind the shooting. An investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances that led to the fatal incident.

The case has drawn attention in the community as residents expressed shock over the violence that unfolded in a public place, where the victim had been spending time with friends before the deadly encounter.

In separate news, a 45-year-old woman lost her life in Bocaue after she was allegedly attacked by her younger half-brother following a dispute over money for transportation expenses. Authorities said the argument escalated into violence, leaving the victim with multiple injuries. She was declared dead before reaching the hospital. Police later arrested the 33-year-old suspect, who is expected to face a murder charge.

Meanwhile, another shocking incident was reported in Bokod, where a 37-year-old man was arrested for allegedly killing his 74-year-old mother. The case came to light after a concerned resident discovered human remains protruding from a shallow grave near the community. During the investigation, authorities found bloodstains and other pieces of evidence inside the house shared by the suspect and the victim. Police are continuing their investigation to establish the motive behind the crime.

In a separate development, personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection in Zamboanga City successfully removed a 10-foot python that had slithered inside a parked vehicle.
