Marian Rivera is half-Filipino and half-Spanish by birth. Her father, Francisco Javier Gracia Alonso, is a Spanish national while her mother, Amalia Rivera, is a Filipina. Marian was born in the year 1984, and she just turned 35 in August 12 this year.
She was born in Spain, but after her parent’s divorce (when she was only 3 years old), she was taken to the Philippines by her mother. She stayed and grew up at Bacoor, Cavite and was raised by her grandmother, Francisca Rivera.
Marian Rivera went to Saint Francis of Assisi College’ (SFAC) for high school. After graduating from high school, she took her Bachelor of Arts major in Psychology degree at the De La Salle College in Dasmarinas. She then started working in the National Institute of Mental Health at Mandaluyong City right after she graduated from college.
Not long after she started working in the institute, a new door of opportunity opened as she was given a chance to showcase her skills in modeling and acting.
