On her Instagram page, Umali shared a video showing Atty. Medialdea being carried to an ambulance after suddenly feeling unwell.
Umali clarified that she never said "matanda" and that her actual words were, “Tingnan mo yung ‘mata niya’ (Medialdea), nakabukas siya nung una pero nung nakita niya ako, pinikit.”
She was referring to the moment in the video where Atty. Medialdea closed his eyes upon seeing her as she was asking what had happened to him.

"A certain vlogger has circulated a post containing my voice, claiming that I referred to Former Executive Secretary Medialdea as 'matanda' while he was on a stretcher. This interpretation is inaccurate. What I actually said was, 'Tingnan mo yung ‘mata niya’ (Medialdea), nakabukas siya nung una pero nung nakita niya ako, pinikit,'" she explained.
She concluded her lengthy post by clarifying, "It is obvious that I was misheard. I want to be clear that no disrespect was intended toward Former Executive Secretary Medialdea. I hope this clarification helps set the record straight."
