A woman in Cagayan de Oro City died after the motorcycle she was riding was hit by a car driven by her husband.

According to a report by James Paolo Yap for GMA Regional TV, the incident happened in Barangay Kauswagan, Cagayan de Oro City.
The car also hit a fruit stand and a parked vehicle before coming to a stop. The motorcycle involved in the collision was found underneath the car.
The female passenger of the motorcycle died from her injuries, while the rider was left in critical condition.

Police later determined that the driver of the car was the husband of the woman who died.
Authorities are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and what happened before the incident.
Based on information gathered by police from the victim's relatives, the couple had reportedly been experiencing problems in their relationship.
They were said to have argued frequently and were no longer on good terms. Despite their situation, the two were still living in the same house.
Police have not publicly established a motive behind the incident. Investigators are also looking into the circumstances surrounding the collision as they gather more evidence.
The husband was arrested by authorities who responded to the incident.
Police said the suspect could face a parricide charge in connection with his wife's death. He may also face a serious physical injury charge over the injuries suffered by the motorcycle rider.
At the time of the GMA report, the suspect had not yet issued a statement regarding the case.
Police also said he was not cooperating with investigators during their inquiry.
“The victim's husband was not cooperative with our investigators' inquiry,” authorities said, according to GMA News.
Investigators have continued gathering information to establish the events that led to the collision.
Authorities have yet to release additional findings that would explain what exactly happened before the car and motorcycle collided.
The investigation will also determine the suspect's possible criminal liability based on the evidence collected by police and the circumstances surrounding the woman's death.
