- A woman who applies for jobs as a house helper and when accepted, allegedly robs the house she’s working in has been caught in Davao City

- Police authorities say the said woman has a string of similar crimes in Luzon, particularly in the province of Cavite

- In a report by GMA News quoting a police official, it stated when the said woman feels the net is closing in on her in NCR and Cavite, she often goes back to Davao City to let things simmer down

- Authorities also claim that the said woman uses several fictitious names

A woman suspected of operating an alleged “housemaid theft” modus was recently apprehended in Davao City.

The suspect, who allegedly has a history of similar crimes in Luzon, particularly in Cavite, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

According to a report by GMA Regional TV One Mindanao, the 45-year-old suspect was taken into custody based on a warrant for qualified theft issued by a court in Dasmariñas City.

“Kapag mainit siya sa NCR and Cavite, is pumupunta po siya sa Davao City sa kaniyang ka-live-in partner para magpahinga at bumalik kapag lumamig na ang sitwasyon,” said Talomo Police Station Chief, Police Major Genesis Oriel.

“Upon verification, positive na siya talaga ang suspek natin, meron tayong info na gumagamit siya ng fictitious names,” Major Oriel added.

The suspect is also alleged to have used fake documents and various aliases to secure employment as a housemaid. Once she gained the trust of her employers, she would then allegedly carry out the theft.

“Ang dami niyang ninakawan, more or less 20 ang reklamo na-check po natin sa NCR at Cavite. Ang ninanakaw po niya is usually, cellphone, gadgets, laptops, relo, alahas at pera,” the Talomo Police Station Chief, said.

The suspect will be brought to Cavite to face the charges filed against her in court.
