Suspended Bamban mayor Alice Guo has released her official statement following an order for her arrest by the senate for not appearing at the hearing twice.

In her statement, she mentioned having experienced severe exhaustion and trauma, as the reasons why she has not attended the hearings.

She also noted that her primary priority now is her health.

The suspended mayor linked with POGO operations in her town mentioned both Senator Win Gatchalian and Risa Hontiveros, asking them if she is the country's biggest problem.

She also assured Gatchalian that she does not pose any threat to him.

“If they have evidence against me, I am ready to face them in a fair trial and at a proper forum. Respectfully, I do not wish to be used by anyone to boost their political ambitions,” Guo stated.

“I appeal to them to focus their attention on these problems instead of continuously threatening me with arrest and accusing me of being complicit in various Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO)-related crimes, which are untrue and unfounded,” she added further.

“Am I really the country’s biggest problem that they need to focus on? Or do they just want to project me as the antagonist/villain?”

Alice Leal Guo is the Mayor of the Municipality of Bamban, Tarlac. She won as mayor during the national elections in 2022. She became known nationwide after her name was dragged into the ongoing Senate investigations regarding Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations or (POGO) and the alleged proliferation of illegal immigrants. Her name has been the subject of many online memes since then.

About a week ago, Sen. Gatchalian, during a senate panel hearing, presented evidence of the educational background of Guo Hua Ping. The senator shared a document that shows that Guo Hua Ping studied at Grace Christian High School in Quezon City. The records showed that she was in school from 2000 to 2003. He also alleged that she actually studied in the same school where he went.

Meanwhile, suspended Bamban Mayor Guo’s brother, Wesley Leal Guo, has the same fingerprints as Chinese national Guo Xiang Dian. Sen. Win Gatchalian presented on Wednesday the documents from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) citing the matched fingerprint results. As per the senator, Guo Xiang Dian arrived in the Philippines in 1999. Gatchalian also told reporters that the findings prove that the late registration process in the country was abused by the Guo family.
