Glaiza de Castro is a multi-awarded Filipina actress and recording artist who became widely recognized after playing Pirena in the popular fantasy-drama series “Encantadia.” Her career has extended across mainstream television and independent film, where she has demonstrated her versatility as a performer. She has also received critical recognition for her work in productions such as “Liway” and “Contessa,” further establishing her reputation as an actress capable of taking on varied roles.
Recently, Glaiza opened up about her pregnancy during her appearance on “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” revealing that she is five months pregnant with her first child with husband David Rainey. The Kapuso actress said she was 21 weeks pregnant during the interview and explained that her pregnancy advances by another week every Monday. She also recalled a time when she did not feel ready for motherhood but eventually reached a point where she personally felt prepared to begin the journey.
At 38, Glaiza also admitted that her age was something she considered when deciding to start a family, particularly because she did not want to encounter difficulties later on. However, she emphasized that she did not allow the expectations or comments of other people to pressure her into becoming a mother. She acknowledged that people around her would sometimes ask about her age and when she planned to have a child, but she chose not to let those remarks dictate her decisions. Instead, Glaiza said she and David eventually reached a point where they both personally felt ready to embrace this new chapter in their lives.
