“Kasi every Monday, nadadagdagan siya,” she said.

Glaiza’s announcement comes after she previously talked about not feeling ready for motherhood. During the interview, Boy asked her what had changed between the time she felt unprepared and her current mindset, when she could confidently say that she and her husband were ready.

“Mula doon sa hindi pa ako handa to now na ‘we are ready.’ Ano ang nabago?” Boy asked.

Glaiza said the biggest change was internal. Rather than pointing to one particular event that suddenly convinced her, she explained that she simply reached a point where she felt ready.

“Siguro po, I just felt na I am ready, we are ready,” she said.

The actress also revealed that some of her friends had given her advice about not forcing the decision. Their message was to allow the right time to come naturally rather than letting external expectations determine when she should become a mother.

“Kasi ’yon din ang sinasabi sa akin ng ibang friends ko na, ‘huwag mong pilitin,’” Glaiza recalled.

Glaiza specifically addressed the expectations that can be placed on women as they reach a certain age. She said she did not allow the people around her to dictate her choices, even when others would ask how old she was or question when she would have a child.

She explained that she was not particularly influenced by people who would tell her, “Ilang taon ka na…”

At 38, however, Glaiza acknowledged that her age was something she had considered. While she did not allow the comments of others to pressure her into becoming pregnant, she recognized that age can be a practical consideration when thinking about starting a family.

“Hindi naman ako nadala sa pressure ng mga tao around me—ng mga taong nagsasabi na ‘Ilang taon ka na…’ Kasi I’m already 38,” she said.
“In a way, na-consider ko ’yon dahil I don’t want to have a hard time,” she added.
