‘Poblacion Girl’, nag-plead ng “guilty” sa paglabag ng ‘quarantine protocols’; pinagmulta ng korte ng 20K

Gwyneth Anne Chua, also known as "Poblacion Girl," has pleaded guilty for the violation of Sec. 9 (d) of R.A. 11332 (Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act) in December of 2021.
In Inquirer's report, she entered her guilty plea as ewll as issued an apology for her actions.
Following her guilty plea, the court sentenced her as guilty and imposed a fine of P20,000.
Chua will be paying it at the Office of the Clerk of Court of the Makati Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 128, Inquirer reported.

On the other hand, the co-accused of Chua, Esteban Gatbonton, did not plead guilty.
Esteban was the security guard at the Berjaya Hotel where Chua was supposed to be quarantined.
ABS-CBN News reported that Chua refused to give a comment to the media.
It can be recalled that "Poblacion Girl" became controversial after she skipped quarantine to join a party in Poblacion, Makati.
In May, PNA reported that the Makati prosecutors found probable cause against her.

The case of Gwyneth Anne Chua, who became known in the media as "Poblacion Girl," caught the attention of netizens at the start of the year. After being charged by authorities, she submitted the following month her counter-affidavit on the case filed against her for allegedly violating quarantine protocols. She appeared before the prosecutors on Monday, Feb. 14 to submit the above-mentioned document. Chua went to the Makati City Prosecutor's Office to attend the preliminary investigation. She was accused of violating health protocols at the time that she arrived in the Philippines.
Earlier, authorities also announced they would include the parents of Chua in the criminal charges that the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) will be filing. CIDG will be filing the appropriate case against Chua, along with eight other people who skipped quarantine. It was reported that the parents of Chua allegedly took part by picking her up from the hotel and bringing her back there. Aside from the parents of Chua, hotel staff would likewise be charged.
