The family of Deniece Cornejo wants Vhong Navarro to be jailed. This was revealed by Atty. Axel Gonzalez in SMNI's report, where he said that what the family wants was really for the actor to be imprisoned.

He cited events which allegedly transpired in 2014 wherein despite the Motion for Reconsideration filed by the camp of Deniece, the latter, along with Cedric Lee, and others, were still jailed.

"Sa 2014, nung ma-indict si Dennis for serious illegal detention, kasama si Cedric Lee, kasama yung iba, kinulong sila agad. They were indicted by the Office of the Secretary of Justice under Secretary De Lima. Ngayon, kinulong sila despite na may Motion for Reconsideration silang finile sa RTC..." said Atty. Gonzalez.

The Taguig City Prosecutor's Office charged Navarro with a violation of Article 266-A (1) of the Revised Penal Code, amended by R.A. 8353.

However, Taguig City Executive Judge Antonio Olivete issued an order, which granted the motion of Navarro's camp to defer the raffling of the case.

Vhong Navarro is a Filipino comedian, actor, dancer, singer, judge, and TV host of ABS-CBN Entertainment Groups. He is part of the dance group Street boys in the Philippines. He is currently hosting the noontime variety show, It's Showtime.

Taguig City prosecutors have filed a case against Vhong Navarro over the alleged assault of Deniece Cornejo. The DOJ has already junked Cornejo’s complaint against Navarro for her allegedly inconsistent statements in her affidavits. However, the Court of Appeals granted Cornejo’s petition regarding the dismissal of her complaint. The Court of Appeals stated that it is better for Navarro to defend himself at trial.
