Longest-running noontime show “Eat Bulaga” went back live on air with a new lineup of hosts on Monday.
It was their first fresh episode after its former hosts—headed by iconic trio Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon—parted ways with Television and Production Exponents Inc. (TAPE Inc.).
During the said episode, Paolo Contis, Betong Sumaya, Buboy Villar, Cassy Legaspi, Mavy Legaspi and Alexa Miro were introduced as its news hosts.
Meanwhile, a thanksgiving mass was held at the APT Studios after the live episode, according to Aubrey Carampel’s report on “24 Oras.”

The mass was attended by the variety program’s hosts and staff.
TAPE Inc. President and CEO Romeo Jalosjos Jr., Executive Vice-President for Production Soraya Jalosjos, and Finance Director and Dapitan City Mayor Seth Frederick “Bullet” Jalosjos also attended the mass.
Mayor Jalosjos even took to Instagram Stories to share a glimpse of the mass.

"Eat Bulaga" is the longest-running noontime variety program on Philippine television. The show premiered on July 30, 1979. Its pioneer hosts include showbiz icons Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and Tito Sotto.
Dapitan City Mayor Seth Frederick "Bullet" Jalosjos, the finance director of Television and Production Exponents, Inc. (TAPE Inc.), also shared a series of posts about "Eat Bulaga." His posts on Instagram Stories showed behind-the-scenes videos of the program's live episode on Monday. It also showed parts from the said hosts' opening number along with the local girl group XOXO.
In an interview with Aubrey Carampel, Paolo Contis said he and his co-hosts were honored to be chosen as the new hosts, but he underscored that they could never replace Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon or TVJ. Paolo also expressed his hope that people would "give us a chance."
