Shuvee Etrata has opened up about the reason she continues to hold back from giving Anthony Constantino an answer despite his months-long courtship.

The actress opened up about her views on relationships during her guest appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Friday, September 25.

Anthony has been pursuing Shuvee for several months and has publicly expressed his willingness to wait for her. For Shuvee, however, accepting someone is not a decision she wants to make without considering what could come with officially becoming a couple.

She recalled that she had suitors in the past while she was living in the Bantayan Islands, but those connections generally remained in the talking stage and never reached the point of having a formal label.

“'Yung label kasi feeling ko, kapag tayo na talaga, marami ka nang pwedeng gawin sa akin na natatakot akong hindi ko makontrol,” sabi ni Shuvee.

Shuvee further explained that the idea of giving someone a formal place in her life comes with concerns that she is not yet ready to face.

“Baka may ownership na siya sa akin. I don't want.”

For the actress, another consideration is the amount of time and attention she would be able to give to a potential relationship.

“What if sinagot ko na siya pero half of my time lang ang kaya kong ibigay dahil sa sobrang dami kong responsibilidad sa buhay? Hindi rin naman fair sa kaniya.”

Her hesitation, therefore, does not simply revolve around Anthony's persistence but also around whether she can enter a relationship while balancing her responsibilities.

Anthony, meanwhile, maintained that he is willing to wait for Shuvee for as long as necessary.

The actor shared that his feelings developed after initially seeing Shuvee on social media and becoming interested in knowing more about her beyond her appearance.

“Actually, when I first saw Shuvee, the way that we've met was on social media. So when I followed her on social media, of course you see this beautiful woman there, you see Shuvee, and I feel like Shuvee is so beautiful and it was something that I couldn't pass on in regards to see how beautiful she is on the inside,” sabi ni Anthony.

Anthony also described his decision to continue waiting as connected to his belief in where their relationship could eventually lead.

“If I had left one week ago, one week ago, I would tell you, this is not the woman that I need in my life. If ever there is a time that I think Shuvee is not the one for me, of course, I would go, no matter the reason. But like I said, I'm still here,” sabi ni Anthony.

While Anthony remains open to waiting, Shuvee continues to take her time before deciding whether she is ready to turn their connection into an official relationship.
