The actress discussed the subject during her guest appearance on i-Listen with Kara David, where she also talked about the people who continue to give her strength after her separation from her former partner.

For Pokwang, her children and grandchildren remain among the biggest reasons she continues to move forward. Her grandson, the son of her daughter Mae, is now six years old.

Napakasaya lang,” she said.

Her experiences also shaped the message she wanted to give women who may be enduring abuse from their husbands or partners.

Hindi 'yung sariling kaligayahan n'yo o 'yung sariling takot n'yo,” she said.

Pokwang emphasized that fear should not be used as a reason for women to view themselves as powerless.

So dapat, sila 'yung pinaglalaban natin,” she said.

She also noted that women have become increasingly capable of standing on their own, particularly when it comes to their careers and ability to support themselves.

Pokwang further revealed that her personal experience had encouraged other women to approach her with their own stories. She said her direct messages became filled with accounts from women who claimed to have experienced different forms of abuse following her victory in the case she filed against her former partner.

“Grabe, 'no?

Her advice focused on speaking up, gathering evidence, and reaching out to appropriate authorities and legal professionals when facing an abusive situation.

Pokwang's discussion also highlighted how her role as a mother continues to influence the way she approaches difficult circumstances. Rather than allowing fear to define her decisions, she said women should recognize their own strength and consider the welfare of their children.

The actress is also set to appear in the Cinemalaya 2026 film 2 Valid IDs, which is scheduled to arrive in cinemas this month.
