Jennylyn Mercado has opened up about how she is balancing her successful showbiz career with her responsibilities as a mother and wife, revealing that spending more time with her family has become one of her biggest priorities.

During an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com at the album launch of JEN Deluxe on Thursday, August 20, the Kapuso actress shared how she and husband Dennis Trillo manage their schedules while making sure they remain present for their children.
According to Jennylyn, their management team plays an important role in helping them maintain a healthy balance between their professional commitments and family life.
“Madali lang 'yan. Especially 'yung management namin, kabisado na 'yung mga schedule namin, sinisigurado nila na mas mahaba 'yung oras sa pamilya. Meron kaming palaging oras para sa mga bata,” pahayag ng aktres.

Jennylyn's remarks came after Dennis recently shared in an interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda that he is now more focused on being a father and husband than solely on his career as an actor.
Jennylyn said she shares the same priorities, particularly when it comes to raising their children and being present during their formative years.
“S'yempre ganoon din, kung mapapansin nila na medyo hindi na rin ako 'yung nagte-taping or nagsu-shooting ng mga pelikula, [or] may ginagawang [mga projects], hindi,” ani Jennylyn.
The actress explained that she deliberately wants to limit the number of projects she accepts each year. She said this allows her to have more opportunities to spend time with her family, especially since their daughter Dylan is still young.
“Ako, mas gusto ko na isa lang sa isang taon, isang series sa isang taon para I get to be with my family. Mas nakakasama ko sila madalas, especially kasi baby pa si Dylan. Gusto ko na mas tutukan siya, 'yung paglaki niya. Importante para sa aming mag-asawa na mas marami talagang oras sa mga bata,” dagdag pa niya.
Aside from discussing motherhood and family life, Jennylyn also talked about her reunion with Dennis on screen through their project Sanggang Dikit FR.
The couple's latest collaboration came after a lengthy wait since their previous television partnership in My Faithful Husband. Jennylyn recalled that it took them a decade to have another opportunity to work together in a project.
“After noong soap namin na My Faithful Husband, ten years 'yon bago ulit magkaroon ng Sanggang Dikit. So, gano'n katagal bago kami magkaroon ng chance na magkasamang dalawa sa isang project,” aniya.
Despite the long gap, Jennylyn remains hopeful that fans will not have to wait another ten years before seeing them together on screen again.
“Sana ngayon, 'wag naman ganoon katagal. Sana naman hindi ten years, kahit mga three years lang.”
Jennylyn and Dennis tied the knot in 2021 and share daughter Dylan. Jennylyn is also a mother to Jazz, her son with Patrick Garcia, while she lovingly helps raise Calix, Dennis' son with former partner Carlene Aguilar.
The couple has since built a blended family, with Jennylyn continuing to prioritize being present and hands-on in raising their children.
For the actress, having fewer projects does not mean stepping away from her career. Instead, it reflects her current decision to make room for a role she considers equally important: being there for her family as her children grow.
