The segment became one of the entertaining portions of the show as Vice Ganda went through the hosts one by one and asked them to share something about their former partners. The hosts responded with their own witty remarks, but Karylle’s statement stood out because of her decision not to identify the ex she was referring to.
Karylle greeted almost everyone—except her former boyfriend—before jokingly explaining why she would rather not mention his name.
“Good morning sa lahat except sa ex ko at sa akin, pag binanggit ko pa siya, lagot kasi salita'y di maaangkin.”

She then redirected the conversation toward more pressing matters, adding:
“Focus na lang tayo sa baha't mahalagang usapin.”
Her remarks quickly became a talking point among netizens, particularly because Karylle has a well-known past relationship with Kapuso actor Dingdong Dantes. The two were together for around three years before formally confirming their separation in 2008.
Their breakup previously became the subject of public discussion, especially amid speculation involving Marian Rivera, who was Dingdong’s co-star in the hit television series “Marimar.” At the time, however, both Dingdong and Marian denied that Marian was the reason behind Karylle and Dingdong’s separation.
One of the more memorable moments surrounding the controversy happened in December 2008, when Karylle appeared on “The Buzz” after transferring to ABS-CBN.
During the program’s “Tough Ten Questions” segment, host Boy Abunda asked Karylle about Marian, including a question regarding whether the actress was pregnant. Instead of giving a direct response, Karylle simply smiled. Some reports later described her reaction as a “mysterious” or “Mona Lisa” smile, which became widely discussed at the time.
Karylle later clarified that the smile was not meant to send a malicious message toward Marian. She explained that she was trying to figure out how to respond to a sensitive question and felt she was in a “no-win situation,” where any reaction could potentially be interpreted differently.
Years after their highly publicized breakup, Karylle and Dingdong eventually crossed paths again on It’s Showtime. In 2025, Dingdong appeared as a guest on the program, marking another public encounter between the former couple.
While Karylle did not identify the ex she was referring to during Saturday’s segment, her playful warning and decision to shift the topic immediately caught the attention of viewers and sparked renewed interest in her past relationship.
Karylle (Ana Karylle Padilla Tatlonghari) is a Filipino singer, actress, musical theater performer, and television host who gained widespread acclaim for playing Sang'gre Alena in the hit fantasy series Encantadia. The daughter of singer-actress Zsa Zsa Padilla, she has established a multi-faceted career spanning music albums, stage productions, international TV series, and her longtime role as a main host on ABS-CBN's noontime show It's Showtime.
In another report, Karylle openly voiced her disappointment over what she described as inefficiency and corruption within the government during a live podcast interview. The singer and television host questioned the absence of some senators during official sessions and stressed that corruption can have serious repercussions for the public. She called on government officials to take their responsibilities seriously and prioritize the work expected of them. Karylle was also asked about Senator Robin Padilla and made it clear that she would still be willing to sit down and talk with him.
Meanwhile, Karylle and Yael Yuzon took an unplanned getaway to Boracay with some of their closest friends. Karylle documented portions of their island escape through several Instagram posts, giving followers a glimpse of their time together. Their trip involved enjoying local food, spending time by the beach, and participating in a beach cleanup activity. The vacation became even more memorable with unexpected visitors and several lighthearted moments shared by the group.
