Karylle Padilla Tatlonghari-Yuzon openly expressed her frustrations over corruption and inefficiency in government while appearing on the "Goodtimes" live podcast aired on June 16, 2026 through the YouTube channel of Magic 89.9 TV.

During the discussion, the singer and television personality shared her thoughts on several political issues in the Philippines. The conversation eventually shifted to the Senate and reports about lawmakers being absent during sessions, prompting Karylle to voice her disappointment.
“Yeah, it's just taking too long and they've wasted so much time with all this drama. Go to work. Be efficient. Things need to be done,” she said.
She also emphasized the impact of corruption on ordinary Filipinos.

“People are dying because of the corruption,” she said.
Karylle continued by calling for greater accountability and transparency from public officials.
“So mad like, iharap niyo saamin yan! Iharap niyo saamin mga yan!” she stated.
The actress and singer also mentioned seeing news reports regarding the Senate president having to request a special session because of numerous absences.
“Talaga, pumasok kayo,” she said.
According to Karylle, public servants should simply do their jobs regardless of political affiliations.
“It's not about taking sides. Just go to work and do your job. Wala nang explain explain!” she added.
The interview later took a more personal turn when one of the hosts brought up Senator Robin Padilla, who is related to Karylle.
“Your cousin is one of the problems. Do you ever talk to him about it?” the interviewer asked.
Karylle clarified that Robin Padilla is actually her uncle and explained that their most recent meeting happened before the current controversies unfolded.
“I have directly spoken to uhnm his wife Mariel but this was a long time ago,” she said.
“Last time I saw him, yeah he's my uncle.”
She added that she last saw the senator during her grandfather's birthday celebration.
“And none of this had occurred at that point,” she explained.
Despite the issue, Karylle said she believes in maintaining open communication.
“If I do see him, I would have a conversation,” she said.
“I don't like closing doors and doing periods. I love conversations.”
She further stressed the importance of dialogue.
“How else will we have conversations with these people?” she said.
The interviewer later remarked that speaking with a cousin might have been easier than speaking with an uncle, ending the exchange on a lighter note.
