Kapamilya singer Angeline Quinto opened up about one of the most difficult chapters of her life, recalling the period when several painful events happened almost one after another.

During the latest episode of “KC After Hours” on Saturday, August 22, Angeline was asked by broadcast journalist Karmina Constantino whether there had ever been a point in her life when everything felt dark and she wanted to give up.
“'Yong pinakamabigat pong nangyari sa buhay ko 'yong mawala ang mama,” Angeline said.
She identified the loss of her mother as the heaviest experience she had gone through.

She revealed that it happened in November 2020, a particularly challenging year for many people because of the COVID-19 pandemic. For Angeline, however, the difficulties extended beyond the uncertainty brought by the health crisis.
“Kasi po no'ng taon na 'yan nag-pandemic. Halos walang mga trabaho. Then kasabay din po rin ng 2020 e nag-shut down ang network namin. Then bago matapos ang taon, nawala ang mama,” the singer recalled.
The combination of professional uncertainty and personal grief left Angeline struggling to understand what she was supposed to do next. She explained that the loss affected not only her personally but also her relationship with the craft that had become a major part of her life.
“Sabi ko, ano pang dahilan ko para kumanta? Kasi no’ng nawala ang mama, parang lahat po ng kinakanta ko parang wala nang meaning. Hindi ko nararamdaman,” she shared.
Despite the overwhelming grief, Angeline eventually found strength in the memories and lessons her mother left behind. She remembered her mother's advice to simply pray whenever life became especially difficult and seemed impossible to overcome.
That reminder became an important source of comfort as Angeline worked through the painful period.
Years later, Angeline has continued building her career and has now reached 15 years in show business. She marked the milestone with an anniversary concert held at the Araneta Coliseum on Saturday evening, August 22.
Her celebration comes after a chapter in her life that tested both her personal strength and her connection to music, making the milestone particularly meaningful.

In another report, Angeline Quinto opened up about a period when she seriously considered walking away from her career in music after losing faith in her own aspirations. She recalled finding renewed motivation one night after watching Sarah Geronimo’s “Sa Iyo” music video, which reminded her of why she wanted to continue pursuing her passion for singing. As she prepares for her upcoming “Aquinse” concert celebrating her 15th year in the industry, Angeline expressed hope that Sarah will be able to witness the milestone. She also mentioned Sharon Cuneta and Regine Velasquez among the artists she has considered inviting to the celebration.
Meanwhile, Angeline Quinto recalled that she temporarily gave up singing when she was around 15 or 16 years old after hurtful remarks from people close to her made her question her abilities. She said some of the discouraging comments even came from distant relatives, causing her to lose confidence in her voice. Angeline later joined Star for a Night, initially motivated by the chance to meet her idol, Regine Velasquez. Throughout that journey, she said her mother, Mama Bob, remained a constant source of encouragement and continued believing in her talent.
