During a recent episode of House of D about rejection and the different “no” moments that can change a person's life, the veteran actress recalled reaching a point when she decided she could no longer stay in a difficult situation.
While Dina was previously married to Vic Sotto, she did not directly mention the actor-host's name while sharing this particular story. She instead spoke generally about a failed relationship, separation, and raising her two young children afterward.
“Sometimes rejection is God's redirection,” Dina said during the discussion.

She recalled reaching a point when she finally decided to stand up for herself and leave.
“No, I'm not going to take this sitting down. Ayoko na. Aalis na ako. Maghihiwalay na kami,” she shared.
The actress admitted that the experience was painful and affected the way she saw herself. She remembered questioning whether something was wrong with her and wondering why the relationship did not work.
“Parang sana ako mali, pangit ba ako, tanga ba ako, hindi ba ako maganda, hindi ba ako masarap magluto, bakit?” she recalled.
Despite the emotional blow, Dina said the difficult experience eventually made her stronger and more determined.
She also had two young children to think about at the time. Instead of treating the separation as the end of her life, she chose to focus on what she could still do for herself and her family.
“Hindi porke, you know, a single parent and meron akong dalawang maliliit na bata eh parang this is the end of me. No, tutuloy pa rin ako,” she said.
The veteran star explained that she began looking at her talents and skills and thinking about ways to improve her life.
For Dina, moving forward also meant refusing to let the painful experience destroy her future. She made a conscious decision to keep working and eventually saw positive changes in her career.
“So nag-bloom naman yung career ko,” she recalled.
The actress also shared an important lesson she learned about rejection.
“A rejection does not define you. It's an event. It happened. You were rejected,” she explained.
Dina said accepting what happened is an important part of moving forward. Being rejected, she stressed, does not automatically mean someone is not good enough.
“Maybe I'm cut out for something better or a different line and not this one,” she added.
She encouraged people to see rejection as something they can go through rather than something that determines their worth or future.
