"I saw him flatline four times, sa fifth hindi na siya nag-survive. It is so daunting, talagang traumatic to ever witness a spouse's death. I don't want it to ever happen to anyone," Bonnevie added.
Because of the intensity of the moment, Bonnevie had to step away from the set to regain control of her emotions. She shared that she went outside, took a moment to breathe, and prayed for strength.
"Lumabas muna ako, it is not me, not DV. It is Jameson. Lumabas muna ako, huminga muna ako. I conditioned myself. I really prayed na tanggalin mo 'Lord tong flashbacks, tanggalin mo please. I don't want to see DV, ang hirap kasi gawin eksena,'" she said.
Despite the emotional setback, Bonnevie managed to complete the scene. However, she admitted that the loss of her husband continues to affect her deeply.
"A part of me died. It took time for me to find myself again. Kasi super close kami, we did everything together… But there comes a time in life you have to find yourself again. Hindi mo pwede sabihin di ka na mabuo dahil wala siya. Kailangan kong buuin sarili ko," she said.
While she considers herself in a better place now compared to what she described as the “worst year” of her life, the grief remains present.
"I am better now than last year. Last year was really, really, really bad for me. As in super. Siguro yun lowest point ko. Pag-usapan pa lang naiiyak ako. But I have to be strong for myself and my kids, ayaw nila ako umiiyak," she added.
Bonnevie also revealed that there were moments before her husband’s passing that made her feel something was about to change, including a memorable Christmas gathering where he expressed happiness surrounded by family.
The series “Love is Never Gone,” starring Joshua Garcia and Ivana Alawi, is set to stream on Amazon Prime Video starting May 8.
