Filipino shoe designer Jojo Bragais has issued a strong warning after an individual allegedly used his name on Telegram to offer a fake film casting opportunity and solicit videos from potential victims.

Bragais took to social media to distance himself from the account and urged his followers to avoid engaging with anyone claiming to represent him. He specifically warned that the person behind the account was allegedly asking for money and videos under the guise of a casting opportunity.

“SCAM ALERT!!! Somebody is Using My name on Telegram asking for Money and fake casting para maka kuha ng alam nyo ng Video!”

He followed the warning with another appeal to his followers, emphasizing the need to spread the information.

“Please Guys!!! Dont!!! Please Share!!!!!!”

Screenshots shared alongside his warning appeared to show a Telegram account using the name “Jojo Bragais” while discussing a supposed movie project and casting process. The conversation reportedly involved a potential victim asking for more information about the project and attempting to contact the person behind the account.

“anong movie po pala yun boss, pwde napo ba malaman..." the victim asked.

The alleged scammer then claimed that the supposed project was a major film featuring Kapamilya actress and social media personality Ivana Alawi.

“Big film siya with ivana alawi. Entry ng philippines for film festival," the scammer replied.

The account also appeared to reassure the potential victim about the supposed opportunity before encouraging him to perform well during the casting.

“Good tf din siya so don’t worry”
“He just need to do his best sa casting call."

The conversation ended with the potential victim expressing excitement over the supposed opportunity.

Bragais later explained in a reel how the scammer was allegedly presenting the opportunity to people, including claims that he was referring aspiring talents to a director for a film involving Ivana.

"Guys mayroong nang-i-scam sa Telegram na nangpapanggap na Jojo Bragais, ang sinasabi ay inirereto ko raw para sa isang direktor ng isang film na kasama si Ms Ivana Alawi. And then magkakaroon ng casting sa video,” Bragais warned through a video.

According to Bragais, the alleged scammer also instructed people auditioning to perform themselves on video as part of the supposed casting process.

He reiterated that he has no involvement in the offer and clarified that he is not currently producing a film. Bragais encouraged the public to remain cautious, particularly when dealing with unsolicited casting offers that request money, videos, or personal information.

Jojo Bragais is a Filipino footwear designer, entrepreneur, and former nurse who gained international recognition as the official shoe sponsor for the Miss Universe pageant. Famous for his high-heeled "Bragais shoes" engineered for comfort and stability on the runway, he has become a go-to designer for beauty queens and celebrities across the globe.

Her statement came amid online conversations about whether journalists and content creators should have separate award categories. Kara also received recognition for her podcast “i-Listen” and her i-Witness documentary “Embalsamador de Motor,” and said she remains committed to doing better in her future work.

Meanwhile, Ogie Diaz looked back on his previous decision to promote online gámbling and admitted that he now regrets taking part in such endorsements. The talent manager explained that he felt uneasy promoting an activity he did not personally engage in, especially after hearing accounts of people who struggled with gámbling addiction. He mentioned content creator Gabe Pineda’s experience as one of the stories that made him reconsider his stance.
