The singer revealed that she spent about five years away from singing before finding a renewed sense of confidence through an unexpected source of inspiration. During a late-night viewing of Sarah Geronimo’s music video for “Sa Iyo,” Quinto said she suddenly felt encouraged to pursue music again.

“Hindi alam ni SG yun. Magmamadaling araw na tapos tulog na si mama noong napanuod ko. Yung ‘Sa Iyo’ yon. Tas bigla ako nabuhayan ng loob. Grabe si Sarah—kung kaya ni SG, kaya ko din,” she revealed in an interview held in Quezon City.

For Quinto, that moment became more than simply watching another artist perform. Geronimo’s determination and success reminded her that she could still work toward the career she once doubted she could continue.

Years later, Quinto continues to carry that inspiration with her as she prepares for her upcoming concert, “Aquinse,” which is scheduled to take place at the Big Dome on August 22.

As she planned the lineup of possible guests for the show, Geronimo was among the first performers she considered inviting. Quinto explained that having Geronimo there would hold special meaning because of the role she played in helping her regain confidence in singing.

“Gusto ko ma-witness niya 15 years ko kasi siya as inspiration ko nang bumalik ako sa pagkanta after mawalan ako tiwala sa career ko at pag asa na maabot pangarap ko sa singing,” Quinto said.

Quinto also recalled an earlier moment in her career when she first saw Geronimo perform on “ASAP.” The experience further reinforced her belief that giving up was not the answer.

“Tas noong una ko nakita sa ASAP. Naisip ko buti na lang di ako sumuko,” Quinto added.

While Geronimo holds a particularly meaningful place in Quinto’s journey, she revealed that two other respected names in Philippine entertainment also came to mind when she thought about potential guests.

Sharon Cuneta was one of them, with Quinto describing her as an important maternal figure during her time in show business. Regine Velasquez, meanwhile, remains someone she deeply admires as a singer.

“Si Mama Sharon kasi unang nanay ko sa showbiz… Si Regine Velasquez Idol ko po talaga,” she explained.

Quinto emphasized that she did not have only one inspiration in mind when planning the celebration of her musical milestone.

“Hindi pwedeng isa lang, tatlo talaga naisip ko kasi sila inspiration ko.”

Her story highlights how a single performance can sometimes reignite an artist’s confidence after years of uncertainty. For Quinto, the moment she watched Geronimo’s music video became a reminder that her own musical dreams were still worth pursuing.

Angeline Quinto (born November 26, 1989) is a Filipino singer, actress, and television host known as the "Power Diva" after winning the talent competition Star Power in 2011.
