The singer opened up about her unusual student journey during an interview on “Oh My Gan!,” where she discussed how she managed to balance her studies with her career, marriage, motherhood, and pregnancies.

Quinto recently graduated from Immaculada Concepcion College with a Bachelor of Business Administration, major in Marketing Management.

Her decision to return to school was deeply connected to her late mother, Mama Bob, who had repeatedly encouraged her to continue her education before her death in November 2020.

“Lagi niyang sinasabi sa’kin, ‘Gie, magtuloy ka ng pag-aaral mo pag kaya ng oras’,” Quinto recalled.

Her mother even encouraged her to ask her manager for help in finding a school that would allow her to continue studying.

Quinto had initially put her education on hold when singing became her source of income and a way to support her mother. After joining amateur singing competitions and eventually entering showbiz, her career took priority.

Following Mama Bob’s passing, however, Quinto decided to fulfill the dream she had promised to pursue.

She went back to school in 2021, the same year she discovered she was pregnant with her first child, Sylvio. By 2024, she was still juggling her studies while pregnant with her daughter, Sylvia, and filming the series “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim.”

Her graduation was initially expected to happen the previous year, but incomplete requirements delayed the milestone by another year.

What made her accomplishment even more remarkable was the fact that she managed to keep her return to school private.

“Hindi niya alam. Kahit si Nonrev hindi niya alam,” she said while referring to her husband.

For nearly four years, Quinto reportedly waited until she had finished her work and her husband and children were already asleep before working on her school requirements.

“Pag-uwi ko ng bahay, pagtulog na ang mga bata, at tulog na rin si Nonrev, saka ako babalik. Saka ako pupunta sa isang kwarto,” she shared.

When Nonrev asked what she was doing, Quinto said she simply told him that she needed to study a song.

“Ang sinasabi ko sa kanya, ‘Wait lang, babe, mag-aaral lang ako ng kanta, ha?’”

Only her manager knew the real reason behind her late-night routine. Quinto explained that she wanted to surprise her family and did not want to put extra pressure on herself if she failed to complete the degree.

After finally receiving her diploma, Quinto reflected on the person who inspired her to finish the journey.

“Malamang kasama ko talaga ang Mama habang nasa stage ako na tinatanggap ko 'yung diploma ko,” she said.

For Quinto, the achievement serves as a reminder that setting aside a dream does not necessarily mean abandoning it forever.

“Minsan may mga pangarap talaga tayo na kailangan natin maisantabi dahil kailangan nating tuparin 'yung isang pangarap natin. Pero hindi ibig sabihin nun kakalimutan natin 'yung isang pangarap natin,” she said.
“Baka kailangan lang natin bigyan ng time. So pag natupad natin itong isang pangarap natin, pwede nating balikan ’to anytime.”
