Jennylyn Mercado opened up about why she decided to place her music career in the hands of ABS-CBN Music as she marked another chapter with JEN Deluxe.

During the launch, the actress-singer was asked what made her comfortable working with the music arm of ABS-CBN.

Her answer was brief but clear.

“Wala namang ibang mapagkakatiwalaan,” Jennylyn said.

The statement reflected the confidence she has in the team handling her music. It also came as she continued a collaboration that began before the release of her comeback project under Star Music.

Jennylyn first teased her music comeback with the Star Music team in 2023. Her six-track EP JEN was later released in May 2025, marking her first project under the label.

The collection featured “Paulit-Ulit Kang Pipiliin,” “Sa Gitna,” “Hihintayin Kita,” “Kung Nandito Ka Pa,” “Ayaw Pang Umuwi,” and “Hindi Pa Rin Sapat.”

Official ABS-CBN information also noted that the singer was hands-on in creating the project.

Jonathan Manalo played an important role in the release.

The ABS-CBN Music executive served as the overall producer of JEN and co-wrote “Paulit-Ulit Kang Pipiliin” with Jennylyn. Their working relationship became part of the conversation again during the JEN Deluxe launch.

According to a video shared by PUSH on X, Jennylyn also shared her feelings after Manalo praised her natural singing abilities.

The compliment from the veteran music producer made the moment more personal for the singer, especially after working closely with him on her latest music projects.

Their collaboration has allowed her to focus again on music while continuing her career as a Kapuso actress.

Star Music described JEN Deluxe as a more personal repackaging of her latest EP and announced its release for August 21, 2026.
