Her self-consciousness reached a tipping point when she eventually got offered a project with GMA.

Madam, seryoso, gusto mong maging artista tapos ganyan mo ipe-presenta yung sarili mo? Iyak talaga ako, iyak."

She recalled feeling embarrassed by the extra effort required in the makeup room just to even out her skin.

"First day yun. Ako yung artista na... kailangan pang pinturahan yang braso mo tsaka yang hita mo," she recalled.

When Kring Kimasked what pushed her to step back into the entertainment industry despite the challenges, Jennica gave an honest and practical answer.
