Sharon Cuneta, a famous veteran actress, is currently mourning the loss of her good old friend, Ed De Leon, whom she also fondly calls 'Kuya.'

On Wednesday, December 18, Sharon took to Instagram to share how Ed was the first to call and dub her as 'The Megastar' in show business.

"Tonight, I received some very sad news. My good old friend, Kuya, protector, defender, tireless supporter since my teens, passed away. Ed De Leon was the one who first called me 'The Megastar.' I am sure that he had no idea then how much it would impact my career and life. My heart is broken. Again," the actress wrote online.

According to Sharon, it felt as if an "era has ended" after her 'Kuya' Ed passed away this year.

"I feel like an era has ended. He loved me, and I loved him. I wish God would’ve taken him home some other time, not just a few days before Christmas. I will miss you, my dearest Kuya Ed. Thank you for loving me, encouraging me, and fighting for me. For believing in me when others in the business were hurting me so much and making me doubt myself," she wrote on her Instagram.

By the end of her post, Sharon said she felt like a kid again and that her tears won't stop falling.

"I cannot find the words to describe how much pain losing you - truly a part of my life - has brought upon me and surely on others who love you. Thank you, my Kuya Ed. Endlessly. I love you with all my heart. I cannot believe that you are gone. My deepest condolences to Kuya Ed’s family and friends. (P.S. Tonight, I am like a kid again. My tears won’t stop falling. It hurts so much. He gave me my title)," Sharon confessed on her now-viral post on the photo-sharing app.

Sharon Cuneta, commonly known as the 'Megastar' in the local showbiz industry, is a prominent veteran celebrity in the Philippines. She is also the mother of KC Concepcion, her daughter with fellow actor Gabby Concepcion. In 1996, she married Kiko Pangilinan.

The Megastar, in her caption, said the photo was taken several years ago. She then added a phrase describing what she felt about the photo.

On Instagram, the celebrity mom shared a photo of a lovely balloon arrangement. In the caption, Sharon expressed disbelief as to how quickly time flies.
