Ronnie Liang's camp has finally addressed the viral videos involving the singer-actor and former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque.

In a press release, lawyer Rafael Vicente Calinisan stressed that Liang has no "personal dealings" with Roque. Calinisan also revealed the story behind the videos that resurfaced on social media.

As per Calinisan, the singer-actor, who is also a Philippine Army reservist, went to Dinagat Islands in July 2022 to distribute relief goods for the victims of Typhoon Odette and chanced upon Roque afterward.

"We would like to clarify that our client, Mr. Ronnie Liang has no 'personal dealings' with Atty. Harry Roque. Ronnie was in Dinagat Island last July 2022 to distribute relief goods for the victims of Typhoon Odette. He was with the Philippine Army where he is a reservist. Ronnie only chanced upon Atty. Roque after the humanitarian aid mission, during the tour of the island. They were accompanied by a number of soldiers, policemen, and officials from the local government unit. The courteous and well-mannered person that he is, Ronnie gamely participated in the vlog of Atty. Roque."

Liang's legal counsel also debunked malicious rumors that Liang was the former presidential spokesperson's "alaga."

“Para malinaw, si Ronnie Liang ay hindi po "alaga" ni Harry Roque tulad ng ibig pakahulugan ng ilan. While Ronnie and I personally had a good laugh watching the videos, instead of these innuendos, our efforts are better spent investigating the ill-effects of POGOS in the country, or pushing for laws that advocate gender equality,” said Calinisan.

In the press statement, the 'Ngiti' hitmaker also proudly expressed being an LGBTQIA+ ally.

"I am a proud ally of the LGBTQIA+ community. My whole team and I want to take this opportunity to show our support to the call for equality and inclusivity for everyone," Liang stated.

Ronnie Liang is a Filipino singer, actor, and pilot. He is known for his popular single, "Ngiti." He is currently a reservist with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the Philippine Army.

In a previous report by KAMI, Ronnie expressed his dismay over getting offered to do explicit movies. He shared that he did not sacrifice and study hard for years just to do those kinds of projects. Additionally, Ronnie has a lot of things to do since he is an army reservist officer, a master’s degree holder, and a brand ambassador for some companies. Ronnie added that as a Christian who values self-respect and respect from his peers, he could never accept offers to do daring roles.

That was his only comment, followed by a zany face emoji that is often used to express silliness. It can be recalled that Ronnie got pissed when he was offered to do such kinds of movies.
