In a heartfelt social media post, Angelu recalled how strict her mother was when she was younger. Flora would accompany her during tapings and took on several roles in her daughter's life, including being her “yaya, driver, assistant at bantay.”
Angelu admitted that she struggled to understand her mother's strict rules at the time. She was not allowed to freely go out, use the phone, or attend gatherings without supervision.
Looking back, she even recalled finding ways to communicate with friends despite her mother's restrictions.

However, Angelu eventually rebelled and made decisions that deeply hurt her mother. She revealed that she became pregnant at 18, a period she now remembers as a difficult chapter in their lives.
Despite what happened, Angelu said her mother welcomed her when she returned home with her baby.
Buong puso niya kaming tinanggap. Walang sumbat, puro pagmamahal.”
That experience became even more meaningful to Angelu as she grew older and became a mother herself. She said she now understands that her mother's strictness was not simply an attempt to control her.
Angelu also connected her childhood experience to how she raises her own children. While she believes in setting rules and boundaries, she emphasized the importance of explaining those decisions and listening to what children have to say.
She also stressed the importance of guiding children because of the influence their surroundings can have on them.
For Angelu, becoming a parent has given her a different perspective on her own mother's choices. She acknowledged that some things become easier to understand only after experiencing parenthood firsthand.
She ended her message by expressing gratitude to Flora for the love and protection she received throughout the years. Angelu also apologized for the times she was rebellious during her younger years.
“Salamat, Mommy, sa sobra mong pag-iingat at pagmamahal sa akin. Patawad din sa pagiging pasaway ko dati.”
According to Angelu, their relationship has since grown stronger, deeper, and more meaningful.
She also reminded her followers to value and honor their parents, emphasizing that growing older can bring a deeper understanding of the sacrifices and intentions behind a parent's decisions.
