Ogie Alcasid, inaming inspirasyon niya si Gary Valenciano: “Followed his career and music”

Ogie Alcasid, in a recent post on his Instagram account, admitted that the life of Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano has been his inspiration all along.

He said that he’s been always a fan of Gary V, his former mentor at “Kundirana,” and have been following the career and music of the latter.

Both of them were former members of the famous “Kundirana,” La Salle Green Hills’ music ministry group.

In his post, Ogie proudly flexed his friend and former mentor, saying that he’s always been a fan.

“Flex ko lang tong friend ko. Real talk lang. i have always been a fan,” Ogie said.

He then narrated how they met and where.

“I met him in 1984 when i was a member of Kundirana and he was mentoring us on the fundamentals of live performance most especially in choreography as he was already a superstar at this time,” the singer-songwriter-TV host said.

Ogie said he followed the career and music of Gary V, and later on was very glad to work on the same show together.

“Followed his career and music. Inspired by his life. As fate would have it, we would be put together in shows on Abs cbn callled Your face sounds familiar, Asap natin to, co hurado for Tawag ng tanghalan sa It’s Showtine and even did a film together entitled “Idobidoobidoo,”Ogie said.

Ogie also revealed that Gary is godfather to his and Regine’s son, Nate, and makes it a point to be present in every special occasion in their family’s events, adding that he and Gary have become brothers for life.

“He is ninong to our son Nate and has always been present in every special occasion in our family’s events. Needless to say, we became brothers for life,” Ogie said.

Ogie Alcasid is a singer and composer in the Philippines. He is married to Regine Velasquez. a famous singer and host in the Philippines who is dubbed as the Asia’s Songbird because of her outstanding vocal range. They have a son, Nate. The couple is considered one of the most respected power couples in the industry of showbiz in the Philippines.

Recently, Ogie also shared a heartwarming post about his and Regine Velasquez-Alcasid’s son, Nate. On his Instagram page, Ogie proudly uploaded a photo of Nate wearing a graduation toga. In the caption, Ogie emotionally shared that Nate is set to move up to junior high school. The singer-songwriter also penned a sweet and supportive message to his child.

He also previously took to social media to post about the special day of his wife, Regine Velasquez, who turned 54 on Monday, April 22.
