In a social media post on Tuesday, September 8, Sunshine began by recalling how her father always valued family and made sure that his loved ones were well cared for. She described him as a great provider who gave her a comfortable and secure childhood.
"Champion sa pakikisama at laging pamilya ang una. That’s how I will always remember you Papa. Growing up, I never felt any struggles because you were such a great provider who made sure we were safe, comfortable and well cared for."
Sunshine also looked back on her father's reaction to one of the career decisions she made while growing up in the entertainment industry. Although he was furious at the time, she recalled that he never laid a hand on her.

She then expressed how deeply she misses her father and how much she wishes she could spend another moment with him, hold him, and tell him how much she loves him.

Sunshine ended her tribute by saying that their family was celebrating her father's life on his special day and greeted him a happy birthday in heaven.
