Actress and Quezon City Councilor Aiko Melendez greeted her eldest child, Andre Yllana, on his birthday with a touching tribute accompanied by a collection of photos chronicling his journey from childhood to young adulthood.

In her message, Aiko recalled that she was only 23 when she welcomed Andre and admitted that she was young, scared, and unsure if she was ready for the responsibilities of motherhood.
"Happiest Birthday to my firstborn, @andreyllana
I was only 23 when I had you. I was young, scared, and honestly had no clue how to be a mom. I had so many fears and questions if I would be good enough, if I would know what to do, and if I was ready for such a huge responsibility."

She then shared how becoming a mother changed everything for her, saying that the fears she initially had disappeared the moment she held Andre in her arms.
"But the moment I first held you in my arms, all those fears disappeared. Suddenly, everything felt right. That was one of the happiest and most unforgettable days of my life. You were the one who gave me my greatest role being a mother."
Aiko also reflected on how quickly time had passed, noting that she sometimes still sees Andre as the little boy she used to hold and protect. She said she now sees him as a grown man who is pursuing his own dreams and finding his path in life.
"And now, another year has been added to your life. How time flies! Sometimes I still look at you and see that little boy I used to hold, protect, and worry about. But today, I see a grown man finding his own path, building his own dreams, and becoming the person God intended him to be."
The proud mother went on to say that while she celebrates Andre's achievements and opportunities, what makes her even prouder is hearing positive feedback about his character from the people he works with and encounters.
"I may not tell you this often enough, but Anak, you make me so proud. Of course, I am proud of every achievement and every opportunity that comes your way. But what makes me even prouder is when I hear people you’ve worked with from production, your co-workers, and people you meet along the way tell me how kind, respectful, humble, and good-hearted you are."
For Aiko, hearing that she raised a good person is one of the greatest compliments she could receive. She also reminded Andre that his kindness and character should remain among his greatest strengths.
"As your mom, there is no greater compliment than hearing that I raised a good person. Your talent and achievements will take you places, but I pray that your kindness and your character will always remain your greatest strengths."
She then shared her birthday prayer for Andre, asking for God's guidance, protection, and blessings as he continues to pursue his dreams.
"On your birthday, my prayer is that by the grace of God, He gives you everything that your heart deserves. May He open the right doors, lead you to the right people, protect you from things that are not meant for you, and bless you with opportunities greater than what you have prayed for."
