After years of professional partnership, Ogie Diaz and Aiko Melendez have officially gone their separate ways in terms of talent management.

Addressing the topic in his 'Showbiz Update' vlog, the talent manager and content creator set the record straight regarding his professional relationship with the actress-politician. Ogie revealed that Aiko respectfully notified him of her intent to step away from their managerial setup to prioritize her duties in public office.

"Maganda rin naman yung paghihiwalay namin. Hindi ko na po mina-manage si Aiko Melendez, si Aiko ay maayos na nagpaalam, through Viber, through message, na magko-concentrate siya sa politics at yun mga gusto niyang mangyari sa buhay niya," Ogie explained.

He said that Aiko wants to prioritize the direction she wants to take in his life, especially in politics.

"Yung mga direksyon, yung gusto niyang tahakin sa politika, eh na magawa niya, at syempre tayo naman, hindi tayo ang manager niya sa politics. Although, 80% ng buhay ni Aiko ay sa politics at 20% lang yun sa movie career niya," he continued sharing with his co-hosts.

When asked whether their differing political stances played a role in the decision, Ogie acknowledged that while it was a factor, it never damaged their mutual respect, nor their long-standing friendship as well.

"Isa na rin yun, oo, magkaiba naman kami ng kulay sa politika eh. May mga bumibira sa kanya na bakit di kami magkasundo sa kulay niya, ganun din naman sa akin na bakit daw di kami magkasunod sa kulay ko, na dapat daw eh kakulay ko si Aiko... ay hindi po. Hindi naman po kami para pagtibagin ng ano mang kulay mo sa politika," Ogie bared.

He further noted that both of them chose not to let outside noise dictate their personal regard for one another.

"Political views niya yan eh, ganun din naman sa kanya, I'm sure ganun din, 'Uy pagsabihan mo yang manager mo bakit ganun ang kulay niya sa politics' o 'Bakit ganun ang view niya?' na wala rin namang pakielam dun si Aiko. Basta ang importante, maayos kaming naghiwalay ni Aiko, kahit itinext lang niya sa akin ay okay na interim naman," he added.

Regarding who will oversee Aiko's showbiz endeavors moving forward, Ogie shared that the actress appears to be taking charge of her own career directions alongside new creative partnerships.

"Siya na rin yata, kasi parang nagsanib-pwersa na sila ni Onemig for brand collaboration," Ogie shared.
Closing his statement, Ogie reassured supporters that he remains a trusted friend to Aiko despite the end of their business management contract: "So andito lang naman ako kapag kailangan ako ni Aiko, kapag kailangan niya ng payo o ano."

Meanwhile, Ogie Diaz publicly praised Senator Bam Aquino for prioritizing support for small businesses and entrepreneurs. Bam Aquino unveiled the five-point agenda of the Senate Committee on Trade, Commerce, and Entrepreneurship. The senator emphasized that MSMEs account for 99% of all registered businesses.
