Showbiz insider Ogie Diaz has called out content creator Sassa Gurl over a remark she made toward Kapamilya artist AC Bonifacio during the media conference of the upcoming film “Saving Cherry.”

Ogie addressed the issue on the latest episode of “Showbiz Updates” on Saturday, August 8, after Sassa’s comment toward AC drew attention online.
The exchange happened when AC talked about her excitement over working with several Kapuso stars in the Regal Entertainment movie, including Barbie Forteza, Mikee Quintos, and Mika Salamanca.
While AC was sharing her positive experience working with her co-stars, Sassa suddenly remarked:

“Naloka ka sa mga Kapuso, 'no… walang plastikan, 'no?”
The comment caught AC and some of her co-stars off guard, prompting discussions about whether the joke crossed a line.
Reacting to the incident, Ogie advised Sassa to be more careful with similar remarks, particularly when her humor could be perceived differently by other people.
“Lesson learned ulit ‘yan kay Sassa Gurl. Next time, awat na sa gano’ng mga komento. ‘Yong pagiging kanal, girl, siyempre minsan inilalagay din natin sa lugar,” Ogie said.
His remarks came as Sassa later addressed the backlash and acknowledged that she should have been more mindful of how she expressed herself.
In her apology, Sassa explained that she had seen the reactions to her comment and admitted that she understood why she received criticism.
“Saw all your tweets and messages, kinda deserv ko naman talaga ang mabunot, as a quêer person who represents the baklang kanal girlies, i realized na dapat nga naman talaga i lugar ang kakanalan."
Sassa’s statement reflected her realization that the kind of humor she uses as part of her online persona may not always be appropriate in every setting.
Despite the controversy, the situation did not escalate into a personal feud between the two actresses. AC accepted Sassa’s apology following the incident.
