Buboy Villar’s post on Facebook, which he made a day after the sudden announcement of TVJ about their separation from TAPE, Inc, has now gone viral.
TAPE, Inc, which is short for Television And Production Exponents, Incorporated, a private corporation with majority stocks owned by the Jalosjos family, is the producer of “Eat Bulaga.”

In his post, Buboy expressed deep sadness over the sudden and dramatic turn of events, which caught many completely off guard.
He did express hope that the show, along with its hosts, would overcome the challenges they face.

“Eat Bulaga Nakakalungkot man pero fighting!” Buboy’s FB post, which he made on June 1, wrote.
In the same post, Buboy also expressed his gratitude to “Eat Bulaga” and its hosts, declaring that he would be “forever” with him.
“Sobrang salamat sa saya ninyo forever kayo sakin ❤️,” the new “Eat Bulaga” host said.
On May 31, Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey De Leon, otherwise known as TVJ, announced they are parting ways with TAPE, Inc after several decades of partnership in bringing noontime entertainment to Filipinos.
The announcement is the culmination of rumors that have been circulating for many months about TVJ and the new management of TAPE in loggerheads about issues concerning “Eat Bulaga.”

Several days after TVJ’s departure, it was rumored that TAPE already has a new set of hosts for the popular noontime show, which would resume airing beginning June 5.
On Monday, June 5, “Eat Bulaga” resumed airing with a new set of hosts, which include Buboy, along with Paolo Contis, the Legaspi twins, Cassy and Mavy, Betong Sumaya, and Alexa Miro.
"Eat Bulaga" is the longest-running noontime variety program on Philippine television. The show premiered on July 30, 1979. Its pioneer hosts include showbiz icons Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and Tito Sotto.
Recently, News5 shared a photo of Buboy Villar proudly posing with Paolo Contis and Betong Sumaya. The pic, which was later reposted by News5 on its FB page, appeared to show the three are on the set of the popular noontime show, “Eat Bulaga.” On June 5, Monday, “Eat Bulaga,” or “EB,” aired live again with a new set of hosts, which include Buboy, Betong, and Paolo. It can be recalled that the three longtime hosts of “EB,” Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey De Leon, otherwise known as TVJ, suddenly announced they are parting ways with TAPE, Inc., the producer of the show.
Recently, Paolo Contis, Betong Sumaya and Buboy Villar were introduced as among the new hosts of "Eat Bulaga." After the show went live on air on Monday, GMA's Aubrey Carampel was able to interview the three hosts. According to her report on "24 Oras," Paolo said they were honored to be chosen as the new hosts, but he underscored that they could never replace Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon or TVJ. Paolo also expressed his hope that people would "give us a chance."
