The role of Annie Batungbakal was originally immortalized by Nora Aunor in the 1979 film of the same name. Decades later, the character is returning to the stage through a new musical inspired by the enduring songs of the legendary Manila Sound band Hotdog.

The production had initially been slated to premiere six years ago but was postponed after the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted theater productions and live entertainment.

Set against the energetic backdrop of Manila's disco scene in the 1970s, the musical follows Annie, a young woman who secretly explores the city's nightlife while chasing her dream of becoming a fashion designer. Throughout her journey, she encounters experiences that challenge both her ambitions and her sense of self.
