According to Philstar.com, Atasha spoke with members of the media during the musical's media conference on July 7, where she opened up about the encouragement she continues to receive from her parents, Aga Muhlach and Charlene Gonzalez, as well as her twin brother, Andres Muhlach.
Atasha said her family has been her constant source of motivation throughout the preparation process. She shared that they regularly give her pep talks and remind her to remain humble while pursuing her passion. They have also expressed how proud they are of her and encouraged her to keep chasing her dreams.
Among the words of encouragement that stood out to her was the simple but meaningful message from Andres, who played a lead role in "Bagets the Musical" earlier this year—a role that was originally portrayed by Aga in the 1984 film. Both "Bagets the Musical" and "Bongga Ka Day!: The Annie Batungbakal Musical" are co-produced by Newport World Resorts, VIVA Communications, and The Philippine STAR.

"Kaya mo yan," Atasha recalled her twin brother telling her.
The production marks Atasha's return to the theater as she takes on the titular character of Annie Batungbakal, a role that has become iconic in Philippine entertainment.
Originally introduced in the 1979 film of the same name, "Annie Batungbakal" starred the late National Artist Nora Aunor, affectionately known as Ate Guy. The musical draws inspiration from the beloved songs of Manila Sound band Hotdog. Although it was originally scheduled to premiere six years ago, the production was postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Set against the vibrant disco era of 1970s Manila, the story follows Annie, a young woman who secretly enters the glamorous disco scene to pursue her dream of becoming a fashion designer, only to risk losing herself along the way.
Audiences can also expect to hear some of Hotdog's most recognizable hits woven into the musical, including "Manila," "Pers Lab," "Beh, Buti Nga," "Panaginip," "O, Lumapit Ka," "Ikaw ang Miss Universe ng Buhay Ko," and the iconic title song, "Annie Batungbakal."
Atasha Muhlach is the daughter of veteran Filipino actor and endorser Aga Muhlach, who rose to fame after starring in the 1986 hit film “Bagets.” Aga later became known for lead roles in successful films such as “Sana Maulit Muli,” “Bakit Labis Kitang Mahal,” and “Miracle in Cell No. 7.” He is married to beauty queen Charlene Gonzalez, whom he wed on May 28, 2001. The couple has twin children, Andres and Atasha.
Recently, PETA President and PETA Plus Program Director Melvin Lee publicly defended Atasha's casting in "Bongga Ka Day!: The Annie Batungbakal Musical." Lee clarified that the actress earned the lead role through a successful audition, dismissing any speculation surrounding her selection. He praised Atasha's singing, dancing, stage presence, and chemistry with the rest of the cast. His remarks were posted on Instagram by veteran entertainment columnist Salve Asis.
A few months ago, Atasha drew attention after she was seen again with rumored boyfriend Jacob Ang, son of San Miguel Corporation Chairman Ramon Ang. The two attended the wedding of Jacob's sister, Carmela Ang, and Miguel Tan, where they were photographed sitting beside each other. Another photo shared by San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora showed Jacob with his arm around the actress. Despite being spotted together several times, neither has publicly confirmed their relationship.
